Kingdom Death Monster is back! Well it was never gone. But the 1.5 edition of the game is shipping to backers and this means the game is both a reprint, revision, with errata and expansion of the game play.
Of course that means I got this little box – the upgrade box for the existing original core game. On the front is the emblem of the Gold Smoke Knight, a new final final boss, which means the game is now extended by a further 5 lantern years (so 30 hunts in total to play the entire game – if you make it that far).
Included are new sheets for survivors and the settlement, reflecting the changes in the game. Also there are revisions to the settlement locations.
The hunt track/settlement track is now in a thick card, making it much more durable, with the settlement track revised to reflect how special hunts work in that phase.
New tokens are added, plus info on the use of the Priority Target token, plus a cut down settlement track.
The rule book is of course updated to reflect the errata, revisions and additions to the game, and now comes as a hard back book, with ribbons for bookmarks, and every page edged in black.
New cards again to replace cards (errata, changes, editing), and new cards for the extended game and the new monster.
Finally there is the sprue for the Gold Smoke Knight himself, a old man survivor with a club (clubs are new weapon types), and a young survivor.
Of course all these new cards, minis, components and book are now part of the core game, which if you didn’t get it through kickstarter, you will be able to buy from Kingdom Death.
Just got to paint all this now.
Stay tuned for a new campaign and myself and James chatting about the the changes we have seen.
